Varflay Kesselly for the presidency of ULAA

Philadelphia, 11-20-07 (SIS) - Community activist Anthony Varflay Kesselly last Sunday launched his bid for the presidency of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) at the residence of the President of the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania (LAP), Mr. Joseph Shiwoh Kamara.
Inside sources told the Sloh Information Service today that several chapter leaders, current ULAA officials, friends, and well-wishers attended the meeting and pledged their support for Mr. Kesselly.
Mr. Kesselly informed the gathering of his intention to run for the ULAA presidency in the 2008 election, and asked for their support. He outlined his reasons for his decision to run for the coveted job, and promised to do his best to move ULAA forward. Pennsylvania Chapter Board Chair Adolphus Jacobs spoke highly about the leadership qualities of Kesselly, and asked Liberians to support Kesselly for the ULAA presidency. Pennsylvania Chapter President and meeting host Joseph Shiwoh Kamara also spoke highly of Kesselly and said the chapter will fully back his bid. Another member of the Pennsylvania Chapter, Abraham Gasumu Massaley, is opposing Kesselly for the ULAA presidency.
