WI Mandingo Association of Milwaukee

Bravo For "Standing Up Against Disrespect and Injustice" In Our Community
July 13, 2007 (Union Of Mandingoes In Minessota)

As the Mandingo community eagerly awaits the outcome of the going deliberations aimed at bringing LIMANY on board FELMAUSA, the “Union of Mandingoes in Minnesota” (UOMIM) wishes to acknowledge its hundreds of supporters who called from around the world to offer their support for the organization’s position on recent development within our community. We want to particularly thank some of our individual callers and organizations for their unwavering messages of support for UOMIM, LIMANY, WIMAM,OTEMA and all other organizations that stood and continue to stand by the mother organization, LIMANY until this issue is amicably resolve.

We want to thank President- Moazu M. Kromah, Secretary SEE- Youssufu Sheriff and the entire membership of the “Association of Liberia Mandingo Refugees in Ghana” (ALMRIG). Your organization may have been so far way from the Philadelphia convention site, but yet so close to home (Liberia) where the ultimate goal of Mandingo unity is expected to pay off through economic and political empowerment of our people. We applaud your effort, courage, support and concerns about issues affecting our community. Our thanks go out to brother Alieyou Swaray of the U.S army, Mamadee Dolley of Russia, Vakisse Konneh of China, Musa Toure of South Korea, Musa Fofana of Liberia, sister Madiaba kanneh of Nigeria, Fanta Donzo of South Africa and Dr. Abass keita of Japan.

We want to thank all of you, including those of you who share our thoughts but were unable to reach us with your support. Our organization, UOMIM stands for a total unity among Mandingoes; a unity that will account for all and not just a few. That’s why we recognize and treat injustice against one organization as injustice against all organizations.

So many of you contacted us via phone lines and E-mail addresses; some of you were able to talk to us directly while others left us messages. By directive of our president, his Excellency, honorable Vakaba Sidike Kuyateh, we will be contacting some of you per your request. President Kuyateh has suspended our upcoming meeting so that we may be able to get back to you. He has designated me (the Secretary) to return your E-mails, senior executive member, Bangali Trawally (BT) to return your phone calls and speaker Alahassan Donzo (Chris D) to take your incoming/future phone calls.

For my part, I will begin returning your E-mails shortly. In the process, I shall consider forwarding some of your concerns and suggestions following the identification of a legitimate and responsible leadership that is worthy of reviewing your recommendations.

We also want to acknowledge the few messages of abhorrence and disappointment from some community members, especially the one from brother Sheikh Mohammed Kanneh of Philadelphia. I will most definitely be getting back to you soon.

Finally, we want to say bravo to our dedicated members, well-wishers and the entire Mandingo community in Minnesota. You have done remarkably well not only for yourselves but also for your community. You stood up when others were reluctant to stand up; you spoke out when others were afraid to speak out and you recognized the injustice when others pretended to be unaware. Above all, you stopped to demand justice when others chose to move on. If there is going to be a unify Mandingo community, we must all ensure that every individual or individuals is treated with respect and given the opportunity to get on board.

Thank You,
Kafumba S. Kromah-(Acting Secretary-612-203-3820)
